What does "Public" course visibility actually mean?

"Public" does not mean visible to the open internet. It means visible to every contact who is logged into your LMS portal (anyone with Hub LMS Access = Yes).

Available in: HubLMS Pro & Enterprise

Public is the broadest access level within your authenticated user base, but the membership access group still gates the door. A non-authenticated visitor cannot see Public courses, only logged-in members can.

Use Public for baseline or free courses that all logged-in users should see. Use Enrolled Access for premium content that should be invisible until you grant access. Use Requires Access for content that should be discoverable in the catalog but action-gated (pay, sign up, request access).
