Customize HubLMS Certificate Page

Learn how to edit the certificate page template in HubSpot to customize the appearance and content of user course completion certificates.

  1. Ensure you have a contact record that has completed a course with an exam and is certified; this helps with visualizing edits.
  2. Navigate to Content > Website Pages in HubSpot and find the certificate page (typically /lms/certificate).
  3. Edit the certificate page template.
  4. Remove any default text placeholders you don't need in your design (e.g., default "certificate of completion", "awarded to").
  5. Add dynamic properties (e.g., Course Name, Person's Name, Date) to the page and arrange them as desired.
  6. Use the positioning settings for each element to fine-tune its location on the certificate output. You can adjust font size as well.
  7. Add custom text elements if needed.
  8. To use a custom background image for specific certificates, upload the image to your HubSpot File Manager.
  9. Copy the URL of the uploaded certificate template image.
  10. Go to CRM > HubLMS Courses and open the record for the course.
  11. Paste the image URL into the "Certificate template image URL" field on the course record. This image will be used as the background for certificates earned for that specific course.
  12. Save and publish the certificate page template.
  13. Any changes made to the certificate page template will update all certificates for all users when they view the page.
  14. Test by viewing the certificate page or the certificate share link.
